CommentsSorry to say this my brother: I'm from England and was in Omaha July 2002 it was my first trip to US and flew to Omaha from New York. Found Omaha very depressing no sign of our black community other then only on the southside. Missed black community intigration, sprit and share of wealth of our community for our us myfriend. Most of all dumfounded when i tried to visit my teanage hero's house 'Malcolm X's house'. Which I had read about, that it was a measuem. It was impossible to get to his house as the steet its on was blocked from both ends to prevent one from getting to the house itself. Even now I find your site and hope you and community will phrospher very soom. Ahm.
CommentsWhat a wonderful website for the Black community of Omaha. Growing up in North Omaha I saw it's decline and it's nice to see a young man putting his heart and soul back into making it better. Keep up the good work
CommentsI enjoyed the web site and more exposure should be rendered in its behalf. there should be cross reference with the Omaha World Herald as well as information about the John beasley theater, I called information and did not find any listing listed for the theater, why was that??? being a multi-cultured city, all events featuring all cultures should be listed, not necessarily just black, others, i.e. hispanics, indians, which represent a large population within the Greater Omaha area. why are we being so color consicious??? In time i hope and pray for a multi-cultured community of events listed, which would give the web site explosure extending throughout the entire city and surrounding areas. Respectfully, Philip G. Mason Sr.
CommentsIt is nice to see this website, I deal with new students to the Omaha area every year, and most minority students inquire on the calender of events for the Omaha area, Beauty and Barbershops, etc. So this is a great starting point to direct them to. Thanks, Tanya Avant Creighton University School of Medicine Financial Aid Advisor tavant@creighton.edu

I will definitely tell all my friends and family about it and all the great information it contains. Just a fyi, on the home page Joselyn Art Museum should be Joslyn Art Museum. I had never previously heard of this website, how about getting a plug on the new black radiostation "Hot 107.7 & 97.3"? Great job & thanks for representing Omaha's minorities so well!

CommentsHello Black Omaha, I would like to spread the news about services I can help the community out with. I am managing a major bank branch here in the north Omaha area and have specials going for home refinances, credit cards-lines, and free checking accounts. These are no hidden-fee products and I will be happy to explain anything in full to anyone interested. These products can help bring the beauty back into the Omaha area and stabilize income for high or low budget families. Call Rick at 402-451-7372 and I can help you out...really!
CommentsI am going to be moving to Omaha in November and I found this website very resourceful. It also helped me to get over some of the stereotypes that I felt about moving to Nebraska "no black folks". I especially appreciated the hair salon listings. I do think that more information about the black community volunteer programs and activities/places that are specifically geared towards African Americans could only improve this site. So far this has been the most informational site geared towards African Americans on the web concerning Omaha! Thanks, you put many of my fears to rest. Josalyn Knight

CommentsI very much enjoyed discovering and exploring your website. I lived in Omaha and pastored Mid-West Tabernacle of Deliverance Church there for seven years during the 1970's. I miss the area and its wonderful people. I miss airing my daily live radio program over the former KOWH AM/FM Radio station. For some years I hosted a daily radio gospel music program in the area. I am honored to yet have sons and daughters in the ministry continuing to carry on ministry in the area. I hope to get an opportunity to visit Omaha again soon. Be blessed and encouraged in the Lord.
